These terms govern your use of the PaperSafeAI desktop application and this website. By downloading, installing, or using PaperSafeAI, you agree to these terms.

1. The software

PaperSafeAI grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the PaperSafeAI desktop application on devices you own or control, for as long as you comply with these terms. PaperSafeAI is under active development — features, pricing, and plan limits described on this website may change between releases.

2. Plans and billing

PaperSafeAI is offered on a Free plan and paid Pro / Pro + Mobile Device subscription plans, as described on our pricing page. Where a paid plan is purchased through the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store, billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by that store under its own terms. Where a paid plan is purchased directly, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from within the app or by contacting us; cancelling stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current billing period unless required by law.

3. Your account and your vault

Your PaperSafeAI vault is protected by a master password (and, if you enable it, biometric or PIN unlock) and encrypted on your device. Because your vault is encrypted locally, we have no way to see your master password and no way to recover or reset your vault if you lose it. You are responsible for keeping your master password and any backups safe.

4. Your content

You retain all ownership rights to the documents and content you store in PaperSafeAI. We do not claim any ownership over your documents, and — as described in our Privacy Policy — we do not have access to them in the first place, since they're processed and stored locally on your device.

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to store and process any document you import into PaperSafeAI, and for complying with any laws that apply to the documents you keep (for example, financial or medical records).

5. Third-party integrations

If you connect an optional integration such as Google Drive, your use of that service is also governed by that provider's own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the availability or behavior of third-party services you choose to connect.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use PaperSafeAI for any unlawful purpose or to store content you don't have the right to possess.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the security or licensing of the software, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Use the software to build a competing product using our name, branding, or proprietary code.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

PaperSafeAI is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that document processing (including OCR, metadata extraction, or expiry-date detection) will be perfectly accurate — always verify important dates and details yourself.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaperSafeAI and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the software — including data loss resulting from a forgotten master password, a corrupted local database, or a skipped backup. We strongly recommend keeping regular backups of any vault containing important documents.

9. Termination

You may stop using PaperSafeAI at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to paid features if you violate these terms or fail to pay applicable subscription fees, though your locally stored vault and documents remain yours and on your device regardless.

10. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use PaperSafeAI.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the app's release notes. Continuing to use PaperSafeAI after an update means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

PaperSafeAI is operated by the PaperSafeAI Team. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
